Noosa Landcare’s training and education programs are the most important aspect of the services we provide and are embedded in all that we do. Our traineeships, workshops, field-based events and property consults provide opportunity for community to gain new skills and build knowledge and capacity in a range of sustainable and regenerative land-management practices.
Accredited Traineeships
We take pride in our traineeship programs, which have been running for more than two decades and have received multiple awards, including Queensland Training Awards North Coast Medium Employer of the Year.
Noosa Landcare provide two traineeship programs, a Cert 1 in Conservation & Ecosystem Management (6 months) and a Cert 3 in Conservation & Ecosystem Management (12 months), through the Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative supported by the Queensland Government.
Both traineeships provide nationally recognised training and valuable on-ground experience to support successful transition to employment or further education and training in the natural resource management industry.
The traineeships cover training in plant identification, ecosystem services and function, local vegetation communities, native plant propagation, nursery productions, and revegetation and weed management techniques. These positions also offer trainees the opportunity to obtain their Agricultural Control & Distribution of Chemicals (ACDC) licence as well as a white card and chainsaw qualifications (Cert 3 only).

Community Learning
Our experienced team offer lectures, workshops and field days in plant identification, native plant propagation and care, local vegetation communities, restoration planning and techniques, wildlife habitat and other land management topics.
Noosa Landcare hosts an evening presentation series known as the Landcare Linkup, which occurs on the third Thursday of each month (date subject to changes). Landcare Linkup brings together local experts and naturalists to share information on a wide variety of land management and nature topics.
Additional field days, site demonstrations and workshops are undertaken throughout the year.
